A number-answer quiz where the median wins — guess what "feels right"
Originally a board game released by Kawasaki Factory (2008) and Arclight (2014, with a Love Edition in 2016). Available in Dokopa since December 2023. You answer with a number — but the questions have no objectively correct answer. Use intuition, life experience, and your sense of the group to land in the middle of everyone's guesses. The median wins.
The questioner picks an in-app question or types their own. Original questions are best when they require intuition rather than knowledge. Avoid questions with little variance, or with astronomical numbers.
Everyone — including the questioner — answers. Type the number you think is "in the right ballpark." Answers should generally be integers. The phase can move on without all answers in. A 30s–1m time limit works well.
With 3+ answerers, scoring is automatic. The middle-ranked number is the "correct" answer — anyone who wrote it gets 100 pt. Anyone who wrote the highest or lowest number loses 50 pt. With an even number of distinct values, the higher of the two middle values is correct.
When the game ends, the player with the most points wins
With 10 or fewer players, set "rotate questioner per round" and end after everyone has asked twice — the base rule
For large groups, set an end condition like "first to X pt" or "after Y rounds"
If a question feels too personal or potentially hurtful, players are encouraged to opt out. Just declare it, and the questioner moves on
After reveal, dig in — "why is your number that high?!" or "is that from experience?" — that's where the fun is
For edge cases with 1 or 2 distinct values, see the in-app help. The app calculates scores automatically — you don't need to know the details to play.
About 800 questions in total: about 250 from "Quiz iisen ikima SHOW!" (released 2014), about 100 from the "Romance Edition" (2016), and about 450 app-original questions. At 3 minutes per question, that's over 40 hours of play. More questions are added in updates. You can also write your own — inside jokes and edgier topics welcome.
