A "loose talk" variety-show TRPG where comedians guess the hidden theme
You are comedians on a variety show, doing "loose theme" stand-up. But only the host knows the theme — the comedians have to deliver entertaining bits while trying to guess what topic they're supposed to be riffing on. Build a show together about a theme you can't see.
The host chooses the theme to be recorded. The theme should be a word everyone knows. Use an in-app theme or one the host comes up with. Once decided, set a rough genre too. Example: theme = "mentaiko (cod roe)," genre = "food".
Everyone except the host plays a comedian, talking about the theme as if they were "riffing" on a TV show. Comedians take turns at the mic; while one talks, the others ("the bench") play along to keep things lively. The host reacts based on how close the talk is to the actual theme. The mic-holder presses "Switch" to pass to the next person. The first comedian is the player furthest from the next host, and the order rotates opposite to the host order.
When a comedian thinks they've figured out the theme, they press the Kukuri (Group) button and declare "I'm the Leader." This can happen anytime during recording. All comedians type their guess for the theme and announce together "We're all ___ comedians!"
The host judges if each comedian's submitted word matches the theme, which determines the dice they earn.
Players who earned dice press the Roll button to determine the score for this recording.
The running total is displayed. Choose to end the game or start a new recording with the next host. The game ends after everyone has been host. The player with the highest score takes the title of "Most Active Comedian."
After everyone has had a turn as host, whoever has the highest total score wins
Everyone needs to keep the recording lively — more energy means more theme-revealing reactions from the host
The first comedian should just guess and talk — e.g., "If it's an onigiri ingredient, I love that one," "That collab with the Kyoto wagashi maker is delicious — not too sweet"
If no info yet, pick a placeholder for the genre — e.g., if the genre is "tool," act like the theme is "scissors" and see how the host reacts
The next comedian takes the previous reaction into account and tries a different theme, watching the host's response
Repeat to narrow in on the theme
Don't hog the mic — pass often and build the recording together
Host reactions are crucial — say things like "Yeah, I get it, I get it!" or "Are you serious!?" based on how close the talk is to the theme
If at least 1 player guesses right AND at least 1 player guesses wrong, host earns 2 dice. If all comedians get it right OR all get it wrong, host earns none.
Right: 2 dice. Wrong: none.
Right: 1 die. Or, if all comedians are wrong, 1 die. Wrong while others are right: none.

"Omajina" is short for "Omae ga GM na!" — "You be the GM!" Your favorite TRPG is one you often end up GMing yourself, but you'd love to be a player too. By pitching the TRPG you love, you hope to be able to say, "Next time, you be the GM!" "TRPG Omajina Daikyōen" is built to be the kind of simple, fun TRPG where you can do exactly that on the spot.
